Signs from the Women’s March Say It All

The Women’s March on Washington yesterday united the world in more ways than anyone could have imagined.  From Australia to Africa & Antarctica, from Paris to London to Barcelona, from all corners of North and South America and from 100’s of cities in the United States, millions of people united to march for Women’s Rights and Human Rights one day after Donald Trumps’s inauguration as president of the United States of America.

In Shanghai, where protests are prohibited, women gathered to knit pink Pussy hats in support.  In Russia’s Red Square, several young women joined hands in solidarity.  In Mayanmar there was a picnic in solidarity and support of like-minded friends. From nursing homes, to hospitals, to inside their own homes, the very young to centenarians showed their encouragement in whatever way they could.

These signs are just a glimpse of support around the world.

These are wonderful! My favorite is “I am no longer accepting the things I can not change. I am changing the things I can not accept.” Perfect!

  3. Love all of these, Betty and so happy you shared this cross-section of signs! I saw all of these as well at the march here in Toronto! I loved so many of them and really felt that around the world, a new movement was born on January 21st, 2017! I believe this will go down in history and herstory, as the day when things really changed. So many people who had been sitting on the sidelines, realized that won’t work anymore. It truly is a time to stand up, speak up and show up, in any and all ways each of us feels called to. Many thanks for your stand for women’s and human rights as well and for spreading the message to a few more people through your writing!

I love the curated placards, Betty. Truly a picture (pictures as in this case) speaks more than a thousand words!

I was a woman who did not resonate with the march but respect those who felt led to have their voices heard in this way. This is at least a positive collection of signs from the march as many that I saw were not classy or the type of message I can personally get behind. Thanks for sharing your passion this collection xo

What a fantastic collection of signs, Betty.I think everyone was surprised at how many women participated, not only in the US but worldwide. As I’ve written about before, women will be increasingly controlling more of the wealth and will assume greater power. This is just the start of a new movement. Yay!
